Health Services In & Around Javea

We are very fortunate in Javea to have first class medical health facilities which cater not only for local nationals but for foreigners too. Located in the port and the main pueblo are two state Centros de Salud (medical centres) where everyday GP treatments are available.

People who are registered on the "Padron" of Javea are entitled to state medical services, and foreign visitors to the town may also use these facilities in emergency situations, but as a temporary visitor to the area you must provide an overseas medical form.

 

 

Many health care professionals working on the Costa Blanca speak excellent English, and in addition to the state-provided services, you will also find many international health care practitioners practising privately in the area.

Denia Hospital

Contrary to which is now an outdated belief, the state health services in Spain are exceptional compared to other European countries including the UK, and with a full A & E hospital based in Denia, 5 miles from Javea, you most definitely do not need to worry about moving to this area of Spain as far as health care services are concerned.

However, especially in the wake of Brexit, you are advised to contact the relevant authorities to find out what medical care you will be covered for, and make sure you have all the necessary paperwork in order before visiting or moving to Spain.
